Software and AI Development Company in Oakville

DevDec

Oakville companies usually want a product team, not a bench of contractors. DevDec is that team: a software and AI development company founded in 2012, based in Mississauga, west of Oakville along the QEW and 403. The studio is at 6 Come by Chance Mews, Mississauga, ON L5N 1J8, phone (647) 895-3832. DevDec was founded there in 2012 by Junal Rahman. There is no second office. Working sessions are at the studio or at your Oakville office.

Work we see from Oakville

The brief from Oakville is rarely "build us an app like the last one." It is a plant, a head office, or a product that already has customers and a system that is failing them.

  • Manufacturing and the firms around it

Ford's Oakville Assembly and the suppliers along the QEW define a lot of the city's technical work. The software problems we are asked about are quality records, scheduling, and a tool that currently lives on one engineer's machine. Those are internal systems with an audit trail, not a consumer launch.

  • Head offices and professional firms

Oakville has corporate teams and advisory practices that need a client portal or an internal workflow with a higher bar for clarity than a back-office form. The people using it are clients and colleagues, and they will not sit through a tour.

  • Health, finance, and other products sold beyond Oakville

Founders who live in Oakville often sell across Ontario. HomeVu, which connects buyers and sellers with real estate and mortgage agents across the province, is that shape of product. It is not an Oakville brokerage, and we do not describe it as one.

How an Oakville engagement runs

The studio is in Mississauga. Oakville clients who want the same people in the room for the design review and the launch can have that. We do not hand the relationship to a separate account team.

  • Split the product from the record

Oakville work often needs a thing customers see and a record the company must keep. They should not be one screen. We name both before anyone designs a homepage.

  • Make the record readable without a tour

A quality note, a client file, or a clinical decision has to make sense to the next person. We design for that reader, not for the person who commissioned the project.

  • Ship the release the business can run

The first release is the path people will use next month. The work they asked to stop doing by hand comes immediately after, as its own scoped change, not as a surprise.

  • Leave a handover, not a dependency

You get where the data lives, who can deploy, and what we deliberately did not change. If the honest answer is that the old platform should be replaced, we say that. TRL Audiobooks was that kind of rebuild. It was not an Oakville project.

Related work, not local logos

Nothing on this list is published as an Oakville client. The examples match the kind of product and the kind of rebuild Oakville teams ask about.

  • HomeVu

An iOS and Android app, plus the backend, that connects Ontario buyers and sellers with real estate and mortgage agents.

  • Wellsnap

A Flutter app that uses OCR to log blood pressure and glucose readings. Relevant to a health product, not to a specific Oakville clinic.

  • TRL Audiobooks

A failing legacy platform rebuilt as a modern web and mobile system with API integrations, over 8 to 10 months.

Questions from Oakville

Will you meet at our Oakville office?

Yes. We also host the working session at 6 Come by Chance Mews in Mississauga. The drive is along the QEW or the 403. There is no Oakville storefront, and the people in the meeting are the people who do the work.

We already have a platform that is failing. Is that a new build?

Often it is a replacement of the failing path, not a blank-page product. We will say which it is after we have seen the system. A fixed-price repair of an app built in Lovable, Bolt, Replit, or Cursor is a different offer, on the Rescue page.

Do you work with manufacturers, or only with apps?

Both, when the job is software. Manufacturing work for us means the records, scheduling, and internal tools around the plant, not the machines on the line. Consumer and clinical apps are a separate practice, described on the Mississauga app development page.

What does the first meeting cover?

The operation or the product, who uses it, and what is out of scope. Call (647) 895-3832, email contact@devdec.com, or send the context through the quote form. A slide deck is optional. Access to the current system is not, if the question is whether to keep it.
