Software and AI Development Company in Vaughan
DevDec
Vaughan companies that call DevDec are usually trying to see their operation in one place: a yard, a warehouse, or a set of sites north of Toronto. DevDec is a software and AI development company founded in 2012. The studio is at 6 Come by Chance Mews, Mississauga, ON L5N 1J8, phone (647) 895-3832. DevDec was founded there in 2012 by Junal Rahman. There is no second office. Vaughan meetings are at the studio or on site. The drive from the studio is along the 407. We do not keep a Vaughan office.
Work we see from Vaughan
Vaughan's industrial east and the offices at Vaughan Metropolitan Centre do not want the same software. This page keeps them separate on purpose.
Distribution and light manufacturing
The 400, the 407, and the rail yards make Vaughan one of the country's main nodes for warehouses and light industry. The software is yard or dock appointments, where the inventory actually is, and what happens when a shipment does not match the order. Burrito Boyz's distribution hub was a legacy logistics system replaced with an internal tool for restaurants across Ontario. The lesson travels. The client was not a Vaughan yard.
AI on operational data, not on the homepage
Teams near Vaughan Metropolitan Centre sometimes ask for a chatbot first. The useful version is narrower: a person is retyping, matching, or judging the same kind of item all day, and a model can draft that step with a human still approving anything that moves money or stock. Skantrix is a published example of AI and OCR on a measured professional task, in healthcare rather than in a warehouse.
Multi-site operators
A binder per site becomes a different business once there are more than a few locations. We build one system with the differences between sites written down. We do not average them into a generic form.
How a Vaughan engagement runs
The first meeting is about the spreadsheet that already runs the day. If those columns are wrong, every screen and every model built on top of them will be wrong.
Start from the sheet that runs the shift
We take the export the supervisor already uses. New fields are added only when the current ones cannot answer the question the team asked.
Put AI on one repeated judgment
Matching a document to a shipment, reading a measurement, flagging an outlier. Not a general assistant. A person still approves anything that changes inventory or money.
Keep the cutoff in the design
Carrier cutoffs, shift changes, and month-end close are part of the requirement. A screen that is accurate tomorrow morning and late this afternoon is a failed design.
Hand over the rule, not just the login
The notes say what the system will not do. For AI, they say which step is drafted by a model and which step a person must confirm.
Related work, not local logos
No published DevDec case study names a Vaughan headquarters. These are the closest shipped systems.
Burrito Boyz Ecosystem
A legacy logistics system replaced with a distribution hub, plus front- and back-of-house inventory, for restaurants across Ontario.
Skantrix
Web and mobile software that uses AI and OCR so clinicians can calculate gastric fluid volume from ultrasound images.
TRL Audiobooks
An established platform rebuilt, including API integrations, when the legacy system could not be patched into shape.
Questions from Vaughan
Will you put an AI model on top of our warehouse spreadsheet?
Only after the spreadsheet is a trustworthy record. The model then drafts one repeated step, and a person approves anything that moves stock or money. We will refuse a chatbot layered on data nobody trusts.
Where do working sessions happen?
At 6 Come by Chance Mews in Mississauga, or at your Vaughan site. The practical route from the studio is the 407. There is no Vaughan office and no drop-in desk at Vaughan Metropolitan Centre.
Is this the same offer as a fixed-price rescue?
No. Rescue is for an app or site that an AI coding tool already generated and that is stuck on auth, data, deploy, or payments. Vaughan operations software is a scoped build. If you are holding a Lovable, Bolt, Replit, Cursor, or v0 project, start on the Rescue page instead.
What should we send before the first meeting?
The sheet or report your supervisor uses, and a sentence on what decision it fails to support. Send that through the quote form, to contact@devdec.com, or bring it to a call on (647) 895-3832. A full requirements document can wait.
